Deliver TV services to existing computers without buying new televisions
With LanTV, organizations, offices, and facilities with large numbers of users do not need to purchase new televisions for every room or workstation to provide access to TV channels. LanTV delivers television over the computer network, allowing existing computers to serve as TV receivers and displays in addition to their everyday uses.
In this solution, the LanTV server receives TV signals and, after processing and distributing them over the computer network, makes them available through the Client software. Users simply need to connect their computers to the network and launch the client application to watch the channels they are authorized to access. This eliminates the need to install a separate television at every location where TV viewing is required.
This feature can reduce the initial cost of outfitting a building. It eliminates the need to purchase multiple televisions and reduces the need for separate cabling to connect each TV to a central antenna system. In buildings that already have suitable computer-network infrastructure, LanTV makes better use of existing resources.
Using a computer as a TV display also provides greater flexibility. Users can watch their preferred TV channels in the same workspace where they use their computers. If they have the required permissions, they can also record TV programs on their computers and watch them later.
LanTV enables TV services to be delivered across a large facility without purchasing numerous televisions, helping organizations make more effective use of their existing computer equipment and network infrastructure.
