Control users’ access to channels and viewing hours, and monitor which channels they watch
One of the key advantages of LanTV over traditional MATV (Master Antenna Television) systems is its extensive and flexible user management and access control.
Traditional MATV systems generally cannot control which content or channels each user can access. System administrators also cannot view reports showing how users are using the system or which channel each user is watching. This limitation stems from the nature of these systems: once a signal is distributed over a cable, it is available to anyone connected to that cable, whether authorized or not.
With LanTV, however, the system administrator can assign channel access individually to each user or apply access settings to groups of users.
In addition to access control, administrators can monitor users in real time and see which channel each user is watching.
User accounts can also be temporarily enabled or disabled. This allows an administrator to restrict a user’s access for a specified period and restore it when needed.
Another important LanTV feature is time-based access control. Administrators can specify the hours and time periods during which each user is allowed to watch particular channel groups.
LanTV therefore provides not only content distribution, but also comprehensive access management and user monitoring—capabilities that cannot be implemented in traditional MATV systems.
